Hi, This is my first public post on this site. I recently purchased a Swift 18 here in Ireland. She was called Cucumber Sunshine, then Socrates. Boat number 36. I am changing the name to Surprise, and plan to keep her on Lough Derg for a while. Eventually she will be moved to Galway Bay, my home waters, where I plan to sail the western seaboard.
I have found the site very informative, a factor which influenced my purchase. Thanks also to Joe in Dunlaoghaire, who took me for a spin in Evergreen.
I wish to raise a few points... since the makeover, I cant seen to find the old posts in the Yahoo section? Where did they go?
And in the newsletters, number 5, the first owner describes the modifications he made to the boat, but the drawings are not included.
Would anyone have a copy? Thanks. Keep up the good work.

Hi Sean,

Welcome aboard. I too am a newcomer to Swifts and have recently bought 118, previously called Midge, now called Offbeat.
I have tried to attached a PDF file that contains the pictures that you want but it has exceeded the permitted file size. If you PM me your direct email address I'll send the file that way, its actually only 406kb.

My copy of issue 5 also has these pictures missing but I seem to have everything else thanks to the previous owner.

Call if you need more.

Cheers

Sean.
The diagrams for the mods to Cucumber Sunbeam were in a file called 'Odds & Mods' in the newsletter section of this site. However the link to that file dosn't seem to work anymore (Andy please note!) The file is once again too big to attach here or to PM you. If you PM me your email I'll send it to you.

ps. I enjoyed sailing on Lough Derg with the kids some years ago in a hired Hunter Horizon 23.
